With my skill to learn on my own, I came across the Power BI dashboard and i felt i could have something to represent data hosted on Microsoft SQL Server in a dashboard that can show an analytical view of all what i with an easy date picker and dropdown list to interact with the database even with little or no knowledge of how sql query is writing. Before this period, i have been querying through sql server direct each time my supervisor asks for data and information from the database. You can't imagine writing a query like this every time and depending on a request from one's supervisor. .

Process of Learning Power Bi.

I was able to see some past designs from my organization with which gave me more insight on what i want. But how to go about this, i started working on test dataset and finally try to create a dashboard with the inspiration and with the level of my exposure in analysis, Graphic design, SQL query and visualization, i could easily interact with the Power Bi to make my automated dashboard.

This was one of the dashboards i came up with, Even though i need to close the figure it generating because of confidentiality purposes.

This makes one of my work so easy now so i could focus on more tasks and also having enough time for personal development for the organization.

Errors Encounter and Solution

While trying to connect the dataset to the sql database just to ensure it fetch its information from view which i created using sql query, i realized that i was having gateway error i was able to use the below line to fix the error
